We are «FAIR TENNIS» company and all we can say about ourselves is that we are very fond of the popular game - Tennis. We love it with all our heart and soul. And this love helped us to develop a revolutionary scoring system «“FAIR TENNIS”.
As its name implies - its main advantage is that it is absolutely fair! Yes, you heard right. Unfortunately, the current system in tennis is unfair and untimely. And it's no one's fault. It was fully approved back in 1924, which means it's over 100 years old! And it was created even earlier.
Now we'll prove it to you.
First, let's make a small comparison of Advantages and disadvantages between our developed system “FAIR TENNIS” and the one that is used today:
But, before we get to the evidence, I would like to consider the issue of fairness. Is it important for us to create a fair sport, and if it is important, how much!
Certainly, this question can be discussed at great length. But if we do it briefly, the answer is obvious - absolutely yes! We should strive to make sport a place of absolute fairness. All persons, and athletes in particular, should be treated equally. It is in fair competition that the winner should be determined.
This is perhaps one of the key problems in modern tennis. It is the cause from which many other corollaries of problems occur. When we start watching a match, it may end in a complete rout, or it may drag on for hours.
And now we will hear the objection - That's the thing about tennis, the uncertainty. If we play for a regular score, like in other sports, it won't be interesting. You need key draws, you need tension, you need intrigue and changes in the plot of the game. It is impossible to make a match interesting by fixing the number of draws in a match. But it is possible!
This is a consequence of the first point. If the number of draws is not fixed, the duration of the match can be as long as you like! And even if you play to 100 wins, on points, it does not guarantee that the time will be fixed. After all, you can win 100-0 with short draws or 100-99 with long draws. And we will get completely different times for the whole match!
Two matches were played in Round 1 of a major tournament. The two-set match ended 6-0 6-1 and contained 70 draws. The three-set match ended 7-5, 6-7, 7-6 (12:10) and contained 220 draws.
A three-set match that ended 6-0 6-1 lasted 54 minutes. A three-set match ending 7-5, 6-7, 7-6 (8-6) lasted 185 minutes. The match times for the same format can be significantly different from each other.
It is possible to make a match exciting, interesting and intriguing with a relatively fixed number of draws. The uncertainty of the number of draws is a big problem in modern tennis.
Of course, it is impossible to fix the match time completely. As a result, the result of the match would be unfair and the time of the whole match can affect the quality of tennis.
The «FAIR TENNIS» system has a relatively predictable number of draws, while still leaving the match exciting and keeping the spectators in suspense.
The «FAIR TENNIS» system also solves this problem. The duration of the match is predicted to a certain time standard.
This problem does not belong to the category of important and significant problems in modern tennis. However, it is also present and it is also possible to solve it. Let us first describe it in more detail.
Because of the outdated scoring system, players get a rather favorable score in the game for themselves. For example - 40-0 in a game or 5-0 in a set. In this case, the player can play more relaxed, and the viewers are less interested in watching. Especially if the favorite is leading and it becomes clear that his opponent's chances are close to 0.
Have you ever bought tickets for a huge amount of money for a semi-final match and it ended in an hour without a fight? Meanwhile, the neighboring semifinal was full of wrestling and heat! You wanted to see a real battle so badly, but it didn't happen. Some may say that it will always happen like this and it is impossible to predict the defeat. But that's not true and we will prove to you that «FAIR TENNIS» will make tennis more exciting and competitive! How? For that you need to get technical information from us.
Decrease in viewer interest and quality of players' play when the result is a blowout, such as 5-0 or 5-1 in sets or 40-0-0 on their own serve.
Spectators bought tickets for big money for a match that ended in 57 minutes with a score of 6-1, 6-1. And the neighboring semifinal match was full of fight and heat. Spectators are upset about the purchase and the time wasted.
Yes, this is not the key problem of modern tennis, but it can be solved by giving spectators more emotion and tension during the match.
For sport and business to progress, spectators must be satisfied. This is the basic condition for success in sports and business.
«FAIR TENNIS» solves this problem. Every draw in tennis should be important and provide the spectators and the players themselves with the maximum amount of emotions!
The «FAIR TENNIS» system creates the most competitive conditions inside the match and raises the degree of the match. The spectators will be absolutely thrilled with what is happening.
A simple example. The first round of a tournament is underway. We consider two matches. The first one ends with the score 6-1, 6-2. The second one ends with the score 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 (9:7).
Both losing players get the same prize money, which was guaranteed to them before the matches started. In our opinion this is unfair!
There are beautiful and heroic saves in every match! Players give their all, give their all to create a show. However, winning one single, even a beautiful game is no guarantee of victory in modern tennis.
Two matches of the same round are played with different scores. The first match is 6-1, 6-2, the second match is 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 (9:7). The losing players receive the same prize money.
Players who show a vibrant, beautiful and emotional game are not rewarded by it.
Of course, if players are not guaranteed a starting prize money, they will simply refuse to play! The starting prize money is necessary because players need to invest a lot of money in order to be in the best possible shape for the match. However, we offer an alternative, more “democratic” scheme of prize money calculation and it will please everyone.
Players who show beautiful and colorful play should be rewarded regardless of the outcome of the entire match.
Our “«FAIR TENNIS»” system is optimal and statistically correct in terms of prize money distribution among players. It is the most fair and “democratic”.
The «FAIR TENNIS» system provides a solution to the problem of rewarding players for beautiful and bright play. As a result, everyone will be satisfied - players, spectators and organizers. After all, the most important thing is justice.
The final of the long tournament is coming to an end. And at the beginning of the match we see that one player spent 7 hours and 15 minutes on the court. The second finalist hit a more difficult net and spent a total of 13 hours and 10 minutes on court. In addition to the physical strain, the players received a completely disparate emotional load.
And now we will hear the standard phrase - it can't be avoided. There will always be difficult opponents and easier opponents. We're not going to argue about that. However, it is possible to create conditions much more fair and just in tennis.
And let's also remember one fact! How many finals didn't even take place because one of the semifinals had such a difficult match that the winner had no energy left for the final? Remember at least the game from 09-11-2014 - Stanislas Wawrinka - Roger Federer at the World Tour Finals! In that match Roger Federer won 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (8:6), but there was no energy left for the final. There was a blatant injustice that day! We pass it by, forget it. We think it couldn't have been any other way. But it wasn't!
As we have already written above, today's points system was approved in 1924! Although it was created even earlier. Of course, at that time persons had no idea how popular the game would become and how it would fit into the modern trends of sports development.
And today's trends are such that many persons find it very difficult to watch matches longer than 3 hours. This can be clearly seen in the movie industry, who almost never release movies longer than 2 hours. In this regard, tennis also needs to take a step towards shortening the time, or in our case, not strictly fixing the time of the match. Match times should be predictable.
The final of a long tournament is coming to an end. And at the beginning of the match we see that one player has spent 7 hours and 15 minutes on court. The second finalist was in a more difficult set and spent a total of 13 hours and 10 minutes on court.
Match times are uncertain and can vary from very short (under 1 hour) to extra long (over 3 hours). This is very bad for TV broadcasts and for the whole development of tennis.
It is impossible to equalize time on court. However, it is possible to create the conditions for a fairer match. The level of competition should not be related to the length of the entire match. The beauty of matches lies not in the length, but in the beauty of the draws and the vividness of the emotions.
For the development of tennis it is quite important to at least approximately fix the time of play. The duration of the match should not be completely fixed. This may harm the tennis itself, but it is possible to create conditions in which the match will be interesting and exciting.
The “FAIR TENNIS” system avoids the huge difference in duration between matches. Accordingly, the loads between the participants of tournaments are comparable. The game becomes more balanced and, accordingly, fairer.
The «FAIR TENNIS» system solves this problem. Matches are played in a predictable amount of time thanks to different formats. TV broadcasts and viewers will only benefit from this. The quality and spectacle of the games will not suffer from this, but will even increase!
This point is not relevant to the problems of modern tennis. On the contrary, tennis has a great respect for traditions. Perhaps thanks to them the game has not changed much in 100 years. And we would really like to write that this is wonderful. But it isn't. After all, the game, in our opinion, is not a role model today. It has a lot of gaps and mistakes that can and should be changed. There is nothing wrong with making it better, more interesting and dynamic. However, we realize that you can't completely change the rules and forget what was there. And we have taken all this into account! The traditions of tennis will be preserved!
In some sports, the seriality of points is added to the spectacle. And we believe that in tennis it can also add to the spectacle - to encourage players to catch up or break away in the score, as well as to entertain spectators. This is certainly not a serious problem, but the more spectacle we can add to tennis, the better for this amazing sport!
Tennis is a game of tradition and deep respect for the past. It is not and perhaps impossible to completely change and rewrite the rules in tennis. History must respect and remember the heroes of the sport.
The scoring of points is sequential. This gives the game variety and a certain longevity. Players who fall behind in the score have a hard time getting back into the game on the score and it happens quite rarely.
We have tried to do our best to leave as much tradition in tennis as possible. We love this game and want only the best for it. However, we have to make it better while preserving as much of its history as possible.
The current scoring system in tennis is seen more as a given, as a habit. We are used to this standard and adding something new might just shake up our notions. Why complicate something that already works. That is why we offer this system for extra points as an option.
The «FAIR TENNIS» system takes into account the traditions of the game. Everything possible has been done to preserve its traditions, history and heritage. The game will remain bright, dynamic, spectacular. And at the end of each match persons will hear the referee's voice with an exclamation - GAME, SET, MATCH!
The “FAIR TENNIS” system offers an optional option for additional points for the seriality of players during a match. This will make the game more intense and attractive. At the same time, the scoring of the tennis match will be kept quite simply.
The problem in the uncertainty of the number of sets is not significant. However, it is also present. When we come to a tennis match, we do not know its duration and the number of sets played. This is especially true in grand slam tournaments. A match can be played for a little over an hour, or it can be over 5 hours. Yes, we have already addressed this problem above. However, it is the number of sets that make tennis matches so unpredictable. That is why this problem is highlighted separately.
Today, most tennis matches are played in 3 sets. Only at Grand Slam tournaments are matches played in 5 sets and only in the men's set. However, given the modern opportunities this is clearly not enough. The world of sport, and tennis in particular, needs new formats, new challenges, new emotions. Some tournaments have already been held in sets of 4 games. However, this system has not caught on and has not been a success. Again this problem is not the key issue. But variety in tennis can and should be added.
The number of sets can vary, although not as much. In the three-set format it is from 2 to 3 sets. In five-set format, it is 3 to 5 sets respectively.
Only 2 formats of modern tennis is very little. Tennis needs new formats to play and new challenges.
We have singled out this problem separately, because we associate all the instability of today's tennis with it.
This problem is not conspicuous or key. However, a breakthrough can be made here too and add more spice and spectacle to the game.
The «FAIR TENNIS» system completely solves the problem of uncertainty in tennis. This applies not only to sets, but also to all draws. At the same time, the points, games and sets remain familiar to the viewers.
«FAIR TENNIS» can offer many more formats for matches. We emphasize 6 basic formats, although there are many more! You can find more details in our technical documents on the «FAIR TENNIS» system.
Remember where the match starts? It starts with the toss! One tennis player chooses a serve or hold, the other tennis player chooses a side of the court. It seems like everything is normal and it doesn't affect anything. And here we can agree. But then the game starts and it's not so clear-cut.
The player who starts serving first is always under more pressure than his opponent. In long games he can be under much more physical and psychological pressure. And for the next game he simply may not have enough concentration and physical strength. This is already a very important and serious problem in modern tennis. It's not obvious, but it's not fair.
As we know, the pauses in play between games can be quite substantial. Two games can be played in 2-3 minutes, or they can be played for 20-30 minutes or more! This is bad for everyone. The players whose biological rhythm is constantly changing. Spectators who can't move during the game and have to wait for a break. The breakneck pace of play can be a major inconvenience to everyone involved in the match.
In long games, the player who serves first gets additional physical and emotional strain. He often lacks the physical strength and concentration for the next service game. Players should be on equal footing.
The prolongation of some games can have a significant impact on the biological state of the players and can cause inconvenience to match spectators. Two games can last 2-3 minutes or 20-30 minutes or more!
And here we come to one of the most serious problems of modern tennis. It's not immediately obvious. But the player who receives the serve has an advantage over the server. And in our OPINION the players should be on an absolutely equal footing and prove their superiority by their skill. This is the essence of our system and the essence of fairness in tennis.
A person is a creature of habit. We experience discomfort mostly until we are used to it. And once you are used to it, you stop noticing it. In our case, the fact of constantly different times between breaks is hardly noticed by anyone anymore. Although, in our opinion, it is also a significant problem in modern tennis.
The “FAIR TENNIS” system is specifically designed to provide players with an absolutely level playing field within games. No player has an advantage in any game or set. They are on a completely equal footing and the winner is determined fairly in both the individual match and the tournament as a whole.
The “FAIR TENNIS” system is specifically designed so that the time between breaks in a match is approximately the same. This will guarantee the players the fairest conditions on the court. At the same time, spectators will know almost exactly what time the next break will be. Convenience in everything!
This problem is not critical, but because of it again tennis cannot be called a fair sport. At a glance you can see a pattern. If one player plays worse on serve and the other better, then the number of draws should not be the same. However, the crux of the problem is not how many serve or serve-receive games a player needs to play to determine a winner. What is important is to create the same conditions for the players to determine a winner.
“Player 1” chose during the toss to serve, as the pitcher will be blinded by the sun. He already has an initial advantage. “Player 2”, according to the current rules, will play at least 1 game on the uncomfortable side.
“Player 1” chose during the toss to serve, as the pitcher will be blinded by the sun. He already has an initial advantage. “Player 2”, according to the current rules, will play at least 1 game on the uncomfortable side.
There are a great number of such cases in tennis and it seems that nothing can be done about them. However, this is not the case.
The match is over. According to the statistics, Player 1 has played 100 games on serve and 80 games on serve. “Player 2 played 80 games on serve and 100 games on serve.
Weather problems and imperfections in the system can significantly affect the quality of a match, including the fairness of the outcome. Quite often in such cases the fate of the match can be decided by chance.
It's not an obvious problem. However, it is quite serious. It is impossible to create a fair and level playing field if the number of serve and serve-receive draws are different.
There are relatively few matches where sun, wind or moisture play a significant role in determining the winner. However, there are such matches and our task is to do our best to minimize weather factors in determining the winner of the match.
The «FAIR TENNIS» system is designed in such a way that tennis players play a completely equal number of games per match. None of them has an advantage. They are in completely equal conditions. The winner is always the one who shows the most quality play.
It is impossible to completely solve this problem. It is impossible to make the wind blow equally, the sun glare both players equally, and the court be equally wet on both sides! However, the «FAIR TENNIS» system solves this problem on a whole new level. In a match, the players get the closest possible conditions for competition.
A person is a creature of habit. We experience discomfort mostly until we are used to it. And once you are used to it, you stop noticing it. In our case, the fact of constantly different times between breaks is hardly noticed by anyone anymore. Although, in our opinion, it is also a significant problem in modern tennis.
The match is over. According to the statistics, Player 1 has played 100 games on serve and 80 games on serve. “Player 2 played 80 games on serve and 100 games on serve.
It's not an obvious problem. However, it is quite serious. It is impossible to create a fair and level playing field if the number of serve and serve-receive draws are different.
The «FAIR TENNIS» system is designed in such a way that tennis players play a completely equal number of games per match. None of them has an advantage. They are in completely equal conditions. The winner is always the one who shows the most quality play.

Weather problems and imperfections in the system can significantly affect the quality of a match, including the fairness of the outcome. Quite often in such cases the fate of the match can be decided by chance.
There are relatively few matches where sun, wind or moisture play a significant role in determining the winner. However, there are such matches and our task is to do our best to minimize weather factors in determining the winner of the match.
It is impossible to completely solve this problem. It is impossible to make the wind blow equally, the sun glare both players equally, and the court be equally wet on both sides! However, the «FAIR TENNIS» system solves this problem on a whole new level. In a match, the players get the closest possible conditions for competition.
